NRA convention… whats the first thought that comes to mind? Well I had never been and had skewed expectations other than my degree which emphasis on meeting planning. My thought was there would be tons of people doing table lectures on their new gadgets like the commercials of sales for As seen on TV/ not sold in stores or the like there of. I personally have been to many many many Gun Shows and half expected it to be more along these lines. Long tables with guns just lined out flat like a flea market. Granny walking around with a tag hanging off her shot gun displaying her asking price. Plastic bins of pieces to add or replace on your pistols and hunting rifle guns. Maybe a bouncing blonde in a string bikini to help promote a company or two.
The Convention center was huge clean and welcoming. Once we arrived inside the building we quickly scanned the area to find out where to pick up our tickets and NRA employees yelling out to selling memberships and get their NRA credit card! Marketing right in front. Don't waste the any opportunities NRA I thought to myself. We grabbed our tickets and found our way inside "the show". WOW yes WOW! I was amazed at the professional displays structures these companies have built to have a traveling meeting place on their site. Every company had multiple representatives out visible demonstrating and answering real customers questions and they were all knowledgeable and professional and friendly. I was thrilled to find the amount of professionalism and willingness to listen to our comments and answer us honestly.
I'm new to a lot of this stuff and have no idea what anything is so Im going to stick to what I enjoy and get excited about. I love camping hiking and being outdoors. I love a clean house. And I have an addiction for containers!
I am working out in my mind what stood out the most. What wowed me and I know there were and are still so many items including coffee that I bought from Black Rifle Coffee Company. By the way SS is smooth and delicious and the highest amount of caffeine too. I sniffed it out while I was there, twice actually!
What really caught my eye was Tactical Walls. I have seen them promoted on social media before and looked into them briefly, but I actually stood and admired and watched and listened to so many other people walking up and also thrilled with this product and its quality. Tactical walls did these products beautifully. The shelves are held closed with the worlds strongest magnets and come in all your color options black, walnut, early American, cherry, white, or even raw so you can paint whatever color you'd like. The shelves are strong and sturdy with foam lining to hold your own weapons securely in place. They only open with the magnets put in the correct location to then allow you to press lightly to open. Same idea with my personally favorite the concealment mirror. (Come on bring on the girl jokes about standing in front of a mirror for hours. I am unfazed, because I know I'm still young and beautiful even though just yesterday I had to ask a kid to help me with my coupon app at the grocery store. Yes I am now old and able to I able to laugh at myself.) The concealment mirror by Tactical wall is simple beautifully framed 32.5" tall and 2" thick. As I learned there are many options for the cover to be chalkboard, whiteboard, custom print canvas, or six standard print options to choose from. I prefer the universal mirror myself. A standard mirror of this size is going to run in the area of $180 or more, now make it multipurpose to conceal your weapons in classy home decor. The retail price is really not that bad for the quality of these units not to mention very versatile at $300. Of course you can conceal whatever you need: passports, cash, jewelry. There are endless options of how you want the inside organized. Clips, LED lights, velcro, formed foam, absolutely endless ways to set it up and change out for your valuables.
Tactical Walls has some Youtube videos up on their products showing how easy the magnets are to place which allow the compartments to open and display your guns and other valuables. The install on some of the units may require cutting into the wall so I am not able to install one yet but I know this will be one of my first purchases after we move into our new place.
In the meantime Ill be making use of their Hide a Mag just in case!
